All three branches of Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRTs) have been brought under one roof. Taking into consideration the hardships faced by the litigants and the Bar while dealing with cases in the DRTs located at different places, the Ministry of Finance and Banking has not only established another tribunal, but also brought all three DRTs at one place in Sector 17-A, Chandigarh.
The DRTs at Chandigarh have jurisdiction of States of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, besides UT Chandigarh. DRT-I has jurisdiction over Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar districts in the state of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. — TNS
