Following the non-payment of salaries to the medical and paramedical staff of the college and the hospital for the past five months, the faculty has suspended the teaching and medical facilities in the institute for the past one month, causing great loss to the students and patients. On the other hand, the students are also demanding proper utilisation of their fee and restoration of their classes since the exams are approaching. Also, they are seeking adequate staff strength, regular power supply and restoration of mess facilities in the college that has taken a hit due to financial crisis in the university.

The delegation made it clear that the current management was completely incompetent to run the institute and, therefore, the government should find some permanent solution to this fiscal mess. Notably, the four-member committee constitute by the Punjab Medical Education Department to look into the present crisis had already visited the college and had adverse views against the management.
