Devotees converged at Nirankari Bhawan at the Camel’s Back road in Mussoorie to pay homage to spiritual head of the Nirankari Mission Baba Hardev Singh who was killed in a road accident in Montreal, Canada, recently. He was 62.
The spiritual member of the mission Rajwasdev Singh, addressing the condolence meeting held at the mission hall here, said it was one of the favourite destinations of Baba Hardev Singh. Highlighting the life of the renowned seer, she said Baba Hardev Singh was born in the house of Baba Avtar Singh and began providing solace to the people from the age of 27. For 36 years, he worked as a messenger of peace and always propagated universal brotherhood among the world.
She said that today Baba Hardev was not present physically but his thoughts would always remain ingrained deep in the minds of the people. A CD of Baba Hardev Singh expressing his thoughts was also shown on a large screen on the occasion.
One devotee with tears in his eyes paying homage to the seer said the Baba was humblest and pious soul. He used to play volleyball and other games with them during his stay at Mussoorie. He adopted several schools with children from poor strata and opened several sewing centres for the poor women in the town along with several dispensaries. The zonal in-charge of the mission Hardbhahan in Mussoorie thanked the devotees and other dignitaries for attending the condolence meeting here and said all should try to follow the path shown by the seer and live at peace with each other. He said the mission of spreading the message of the messenger of peace in every millage should be taken up earnestly.
