Dhauladhar ropeway to boost tourism: NGO

Palampur, May 31
The People’s Voice, an organisation, hailed the decision of the state government to link Palampur with the Dhauladhars and urged the Chief Minister to constitute a committee of tourism experts to prepare a detailed project report touching upon all aspects of tourism promotion, especially eco-tourism.
KB Ralhan and Neelam Sood, members of People’s Voice, said before setting up the ropeway, the government should focus on upgrading infrastructure in Palampur. Roads should be widened, adequate parking space should be made available to the people, there should be free Internet facility, apart from channelisation of the Neugal river and landscaping of tourist sites.
The members assured residents of the area of extending support to the government. They said they would not create any hurdles in the execution of the project.
