Agitating diploma engineers protested here today in support of their demands. They sought immediate intervention of the state government to address their grievances.
The agitators, under the banner of Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association, gathered at the Parade Ground here today. They raised slogans against the state government in support of their demands.
Expressing his views, US Mahar, state president of Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association, stated that a memorandum highlighting their demands had been submitted to government officials many times, but the department was yet to take effective steps to fulfil their demands.
He expressed concern that bureaucrats had given them false assurance that their demands would be fulfilled soon. Mahar said pay anomaly, upgrade of posts and grade pay were among the year-long pending demands of the association.
RS Chauhan, UC Srivastava, MS Negi, KK Uniyal, Gambhir Singh, Shailendra Singh, Neeraj Tripathi, Sonika Rawat, Sharad Chauhan and others were present.
