Patiala, October 21
Dr Harbhajan Singh was a saint scholar and more of a mentor than a teacher for his students and disciples. His scholarship was much beyond this world and was a human being of far-reaching bearings in his normal life.
This was stated by Dr Jaspal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, while releasing “Dr Harbhajan Singh Smriti Granth” in the Syndicate room of the university here today.
The commemorative volume has been published by the university’s Department of Development of Punjabi Language.
While recollecting his memories as his PhD supervisor, Dr Jaspal Singh said his sense of perfection, precision and sense of exactitude was immaculate and his poetry touched highest pinnacles of sublimation, especially related to religion and relationships.
Gulzar Singh Sandhu, senior journalist, and Priyadarshan Singh, son of Dr Harbhajan Singh, also shared their experiences and moments spent with him. Dr Jasbir Kaur, Head of the department, welcomed the guests and proposed a vote of thanks.
