Ludhiana, June 7
Dulla Bhatti — A story of revenge and bitter memories, giving a new direction to the serious movies of Punjabi cinema, is set to be released this Friday.
Versatile actor Binnu Dhillon would be seen in a new avatar in this film that has been written and directed by Minar Malhotra.
The team of the film was in city for promotion today.
Other than Binnu, Sardar Sohi, Dev Kharoud, Amar Noori, Aman Hundal, BN Sharma, Nirmal Rishi and Malkit Rauni have played important characters in the movie. Sardar Sohi has also written dialogues of the movie.
Talking about the film, Binnu said: “I was actually looking forward to such a film as it will help me in breaking my image as a comedian only. When I heard the story, I got influenced by the character and gave my nod for the project.”
Sardar Sohi has been playing different roles from quite some time now and he is expecting good response to this film as well.
He said: “It is a story which the rural population can easily connect with. I had long meetings with our writer-director Minar Malhotra when I was writing the dialogues as I had to understand the characters deeply. The story has been beautifully written and conceived.”
The film starts with a child who witnesses his father’s demise and carries the bitter memory till the moment of revenge. Theatre actor Dev Kharoud, who is very excited about the film, said: “I love serious characters and I’ve been playing the same throughout my career. The characters have been rightly placed and our audience will be much able to connect with them.”
The music of the film has been given by Laddi Gill and the song list includes some good numbers.
The film was shot on a 34-day schedule in Nizampur, Jalandhar and Phillaur.
