Gurdaspur, December 6

The dusk-to-dawn movement along the Indo-Pak border is banned in this district.

District Magistrate Pardeep Sabharwal in a press note said any type of the movement of civilians within 500 metre of the fencing wire and 1,000 metre of the Indo-Pak border would be banned from 8 pm to 5 am.

However, the ban shall not apply on the Army, BSF, CRPF, Police, Home Guard and Central Excise and Taxation staff who are deployed on the border for special duty, the DM said.

The ban would remain in force till February 2 next year, he said. PTI
