Jalandhar, August 17
The Enforcement Directorate today took possession of land belonging to Maninder Singh Aulakh alias Bittu Aulakh, a co-accused in the Bhola drug case.
The 35 kanal and 18 marla agricultural land at Kanwe village in Amritsar is registered in the name of Aulakh’s wife Jagminder Kaur Aulakh. The property was attached after the Adjudication Authority, Delhi, allowed the ED orders over the alleged violation of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The Patiala police had arrested Bittu in 2013 and seized 3 kg of pseudoephedrine, 500 gm intoxicating powder and two vehicles from his possession. He was brought to Jalandhar by the ED for his custodial interrogation in January 2015. The ED had issued provisional attachment orders of 10 his properties in December last year. — TNS
