Himachal Pradesh Beopar Parishad president Somesh Sharma today appealed to the government and the Excise and Taxation Department to educate traders and shopkeepers regarding the General Sales Tax (GST) which will be implemented in the country from the coming financial year.
Presiding over a meeting of the parishad here today, Somesh Sharma said as of today, implementing the GST was a big challenge for the traders since they had little knowledge of the issue.
The state executive body of the Beopar Parishad was extended unanimously. Somesh Sharma said 51 executive members were inducted representing all 12 districts of the state. He said Dr Madan Lal Khurana was nominated as chairman, while Rakesh Kailash was elected as general secretary and Sudarshan Bhatt as joint secretary of the parishad. — OC
