Elderly women of Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram were facilitated by the Uttaranchal Mahila Association (UMA) at a programme on Mother’s Day here today. Members of the association shared some light moments with elderly women of the ashram and entertained them with cultural performances.
Earlier, chief guest Reeta Goyal, president, Matr Mandal Seva Bharti and Sadhna Sharma, president, UMA, inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp. Artistes gave cultural performances and dignitaries shared their views on Mother’s Day function.
UMA president Sadhna Sharma said, “Mother is a shadow of God on the earth, who nurture child with her love and care.” It is the responsibility of a child to take care of mother in her elder age, she added.
Anjana Wahi, Yama Sharma, Prabha Saluja, Neelima Garg and Beena Gupta were prominent present during the programme.
