Mandi Ahmedgarh, November 25
Sukhwant Singh Kotli, son of former Chief Minister late Beant Singh, passed away today at his native village, Kotli, near here. He was 72.
His son, Gur Iqbal Singh Kotli, and two nephews -- Congress MLA Gurkirat Singh Kotli and MP Ravneet Singh Bittu – lit the pyre. Several politicians attended the cremation, including MLAs Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Amrik Singh Dhillon and Ajit Inder Singh Mofar, ex-minister Malkit Singh Dakha and former legislators Jasvir Singh Jassie, Surinder Dawar and Isher Singh Meharban. Jagjiwan Pal Singh Gill laid a shawl on the body on behalf of PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh.
