Ex-MLA Bansal dead

Former Panchkula MLA DK Bansal died of throat cancer in Mumbai today.

Bansal was under treatment at Mumbai for the last month and a half. He was put on ventilator two days ago.

Bansal was a former Congress MLA from Panchkula (2009 to 2014) and Ambala (2004 to 2009).

He had contested the last Assembly election from Panchkula in October 2014 but lost to the BJP candidate, Gian Chand Gupta.

The cremation would take place at Ambala tomorrow.

The former MLA is survived by his wife and two children.
