Shukla (72) has penned 51 books in the past 45 years. Initially, he wrote novels and his first novel “Allag Allag Sandhrab” (Hindi) was published in 1970.

Talking about his book “Marwa Diya Angrezi ne”, Shukla said: “It was about my experience abroad. The book is a satire in which I have discussed the problems of Indians in English speaking countries,” he said.

While teaching in the food and technology department of PAU, Shukla wrote novels, stories, satire science articles, literature about health and food, plays and child literature.

He wrote in Punjabi as well as Hindi and achieved 10 national ad 16 state awards.

Punjab Government awarded Faqir Chand Shukla with Shiromani Sahitkar Award in 2000.

Shukla has written on various subjects, but he is best known for his satire and humorous nature and writes for several vernacular dailies as well.

“Being a scientist and a food expert, I write about health and food and have written several books on these topics in Hindi and Punjabi. I have written maximum storybooks for children, as they need to be molded into good citizens right from the childhood. Now, I am going to write a book about food science. Punjabis love food in abundance but they don’t know how to eat it right,” Shukla said.
