The union workers, led by Kheri, reached the mill premises around 12 noon and staged a dharna. Kheri alleged the management had not been paying the farmers since December 23.

District president Kulwinder Singh said keeping in view the heavy losses suffered by the farmers due to bad weather, the state government should look into the matter. They submitted a memorandum to Chamkaur Sahib Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sanyam Aggarwal.
