Festivities can be viewed online this year
KULLU, OCTOBER 10
Kullu Deputy Commissioner and vice-chairman of the Kullu Dasehra Festival Committee Yunus Khan said that the Dasehra festivities and the cultural programmes will be held at Kala Kendra from October 11 to 17. These would be broadcast online which could be viewed live on the mobile phones and computers.
He claimed that webcast of various events and activities during the festival was initiated for the first time during the festival. Natti dance termed as “Pride of Kullu” and traditional folk dance “Laldi” to be held during the festival would also be broadcast online. The live online webcast can be seen by visiting website link “http:// www.streamonweb.com/webcast/kulludussehra”. The live webcast would also be available on YouTube which could be searched by typing “kullu dussehra live stream”.
Various events during the festival can also be viewed live by visiting the webpage of “Pride of Kullu” on the social networking website Facebook.
The move was aimed at promoting culture, tradition and folk dance of Kullu valley, he said adding that the facility would provide an opportunity to the masses to view the entire festivities in any corner of the world. Additional video cameras would be installed in the Kala Kendra.
He stated that necessary preparations for the festival, including security arrangements, plot distribution, exhibitions, cultural programmes, sports, water and electricity arrangements and traffic management, had been completed.
