Ludhiana, January 5
The Municipal Corporation authorities have reportedly asked the Nahar group, who has been given the task to maintain the Fountain Chowk, to complete the pending work (maintenance) within a week as it was already late.
Additional Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said the MC wants all roundabouts to be completed by January 15. “As far as the Fountain Chowk is concerned, fountain pipeline is near completion and the final testing was done yesterday. Only fountain nozzles are to be fitted. The landscaping, designing and plantation work has already been started and the company claims to complete it by January 7. The customised LED (fountain lighting) will be delivered and fitted in the next 1-2 days,” Thori said.
He said regarding Cheema Chowk, the PSPCL Department was sent a letter to shift the wires from near the roundabout so that the company could complete it.
“Just 2-3 roundabouts are to be completed and we hope that within a few days the pending works will be completed. Once these are ready, the city will give a neat and clean look as these will be maintained by the respective industrial groups for the next five years. Not only this, these companies will get publicity as boards highlighting their name would be installed at these roundabouts,” he said.
