Rehana Kounsar, a staff nurse at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), has been felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Award for her commendable services in nursing.
A statement issued by the SKIMS here today said Kounsar received the award from President Pranab Mukherjee. Director, SKIMS, Showkat Zargar appreciated Kounsar for receiving the award and congratulated her for bringing laurels to the institute.
Kounsar is working as a staff nurse since 1994 and has various achievements to her credit, including voluntary work for cancer patients and services to people during the devastating floods last year.
“She has also participated in a number of conferences and published various research papers in national and international journals where her contribution to the scientific deliberations have been acknowledged and appreciated,” the statement said.
