“The NGO will provide a platform for all those interested in social activities and other noble causes for the betterment of people and strive hard to find solutions to their problems,” Waryam Singh said, while announcing the Council’s adhoc body.

The APWC would also be a forum for understanding, diagnosing and resolving the problems through discussions and encouraging and motivating more people to associate with it for noble cause, he said.

“We will be the voice of all sections of the society in need of help, reach out to them, understand their problems. Besides approaching the government, we will make all efforts at our level to provide succour to people in distress,” he said, explaining the broad agenda of the newly formed NGO.

Besides, strengthening brotherhood among people through social interaction and cultural programmes, the APWC would also focus on social evils such as poverty, inequality, child labour, dowry and corruption, while the conservation of environment would be one of the prime concerns which affect the society as a whole, he said.

“The environment shall also be the foremost concern of the members of the Council,” said Naginder Gupta, NGO’s spokesman.

The council would also work on government projects and help and co-ordinate in effective implementation and also organise debates, seminars, workshops to educate people about the schemes and programmes of the government.

The newly set-up NGO would raise its voice over monkey, stray cattle and dog menace resulting in damage to crops and causing injury to human beings and domestic animals.
