Fortis launches gold knee

Dr Harsimran Singh, Director, Joint Replacement Programme, Fortis Hospital, Mohali, launched the zirconium-coated knee replacement implant, also known as the gold knee, here today.

He said the gold knee was the answer to ways of improving the functioning of the replaced knee so as to closely mimic a patient’s natural knee and a way to prevent the wear and tear of the implant, so that it lasted the entire lifetime of the patient.

The gold knee is available in two designs – for partial knee replacement and total knee replacement. — OC

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
