Free diagnostic centre to conduct 50 medical tests at Civil Hospital

A free diagnostic centre and pharmacy were formally inaugurated today at the Civil Hospital, Khanna. The centre was inaugurated by Amit Bamby, SDM, Khanna. Ranjit Singh Talwandi, former MLA, was also present on the occasion.
In all, 50 diagnostic tests will be done free of cost at the Civil Hospital, Khanna, said Dr Rajinder Gulati, Senior Medical Officer.
Dr Gulati said the report of these tests would be uploaded on the server and would be sent to patients directly on their registered mobile numbers through SMSes. The centre would conduct 42 blood tests and eight tests involving microbiology, urine and stool.
15-day free dental check up concludes
From November 1 onward, free dental check-up was being held at the Civil Hospital. Today was the last day of free check-up. As many as 20 dentures were distributed by Dr Gulati. He said during the fortnight, 781 patients were examined in dental OPD. In all, 164 extractions, 122 X-ray, 20 root canal treatments, 30 temporary fillings, 36 permanent fillings and 13 scalings were also done. Dr Rajneet Bains from the Civil Hospital, Khanna, Dr Ramandeep from Doraha, Dr Vinay from Sidhwan Bet and Parveen, dental hygienist from the Civil Hospital, Khanna, were instrumental in performing dental treatment on patients.
Poster-making competition
A poster competition was also held at Atam Monohar Jain Modern School, Khanna, based on the theme, ‘Healthy teeth’. Kunika, Tanvi and Pallavi were declared top three winners. Dr Gulati, Senior Medical Officer Civil Hospital, Khanna, distributed prizes to the winners.
