Gayatri Shantikunj today organised 37 marriages free of cost, besides conducted rituals of 70 children on the occasion of Dasehra here today. Shiv Prasad Sharma, who performed rituals today, said following the philosophy of Acharya Pt Shri Ram Sharma, Gayatri Shantikunj conducts mass marriages of poor people.

Most of the people, whose marriages were performed today, hailed from Chamoli, Tehri Garhwal, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal, New Delhi, Bijnore and other parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Navratra ritual concluded at Dev Sanskriti University here. Spiritual ideologue Dr Pranav Pandya emphasised on the need for spiritual awakening, moral values and devotion.

Dr Pandya said we should thank God for whatever we have or achieved and tread the path of truth as shown in the Bhagwad Gita.

Gayatri Shantikunj, as part of its initiative to generate awareness about misuse of money in lavish marriage ceremonies and other rituals, organises marriages as per the tradition in a cost-effective manner. The management of Gayatri Shantikunj assists parents, who do not have enough money to marry off their children.
