Chandigarh, August 21
Adding another service to its electronic bouquet of services, the Chandigarh Administration today launched ‘residence certificate’ service through Sampark centres.
Now, all the applications received under the service will be processed electronically. The residence certificate will be digitally signed and can be electronically verified.
Residents will also be intimated through SMS that the certificate is ready. Once ready, it can be obtained from any of the Sampark centres in the city.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Information Technology, Dr SB Deepak Kumar, said, “This is the third service that we have launched this month. Our aim is to deliver more services electronically. This will not only be helpful for residents, but will also bring in transparency and effectiveness in public service delivery.”
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kashish Mittal and Prince Dhawan, SDM Central and Assistant Estate Officer were present on the occasion.
