On the completion of one year of the BJP government in the state, BJP and Congress leaders held a press conference here today. The BJP leaders lauded the efforts of the government for being transparent and corruption free, while the Congress leaders criticised the government for working inefficiently.

BJP state spokesman Jagmohan Anand, accompanied by former minister Shashipal Mehta, senior deputy mayor Krishan Garg, state secretary advocate Vedpal, Ashok Bhandari and Shamsher Nain praised the efforts of the government.

Anand said the initiatives taken by the state government would bear fruits in the coming time.

He said the vision of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was on inclusive development instead of exclusive development, which was instead the mission of the previous Chief Ministers.

“People are also praising his efforts for transparent and corruption-free governments,” he said.

Initiatives like, CM Window, e-registration, e-Disha centre and others were some of the steps to check corruption, he added.

On the other hand, Congress former district president Surinder Narwal, who contested Assembly election from Karnal against Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, alleged that the state government had failed on all fronts and people were fed up with the working style of the government within a year’s time only.

He said the Chief Minister had announced several projects in his constituency, but none of them were started.

He also threatened to launch a stir in the coming days if the state government failed to fulfil its promises.

Narwal also raised the issue of Karnal aviation club, which was to be developed as a domestic airport, and said it was the Congress government which approved its development, but the BJP had failed to follow it.
