The state government has decided to buy land for Rs 30 lakh per acre for establishing the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistic Hub project in the district instead of acquiring it.

The government fixed the rate after a committee comprising Dharambir Singh, MP; Abhay Singh Yadav, Nangal Choudhary MLA; and Atul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner interacted with farmers at Narnaul yesterday. The committee also discussed the technicalities of the project. Officers of Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) and the Revenue Department were also present on the occasion.

“We have received proposal for 3,000 acres from the farmers for the project to be established between Talaot, Basirpur and Ghataser villages. Initially only 1,000 acres will be purchased,” said Dharambir.

He said the farmers who were interested to sell their land could approach the district authority and forest land would not be used for the purpose.

“Besides roping in retired patwaris, a task force will also be formed to expedite the land buying process. The project would prove to be instrumental for industrial development in the region,” said the MP. —TNS
