The state government will float global tenders for the much-awaited cement plant at Sikridhar, near Surangani, in Chamba district.
Dalhousie MLA Asha Kumari said this while addressing a gathering after dedicating the newly set up X-ray unit to the public at the Primary Health Centre, Diur, under the Salooni subdivision yesterday.
Asha said the cement plant would be a major venture in the region which would go a long way in providing employment to local people directly or indirectly.
Salooni block development committee vice-chairman DS Pathania, zila parishad vice chairman Pawan Thakur, block medical officer Dr Bipin Thakur were also present on the occasion.
