Graffiti event highlights social issues at BR Ambedkar Chowk

Even the soaring mercury couldn’t dampen the spirit of youngsters who came to participate in the graffiti event organised by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation in association with Duke Fashion at BR Ambedkar Chowk, Jalandhar Bypass, here today.

The children not only made graffiti, but also gave messages through them. They highlighted the need to strengthen the public transport system and also raised other social issues. As many as 100 people participated in the event.

Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori appreciated the spirit of the children and others present on the occasion.

Gohalwaria said: “The children who made graffiti were talented and they also gave out messages through the art. I liked participating with them.”

MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said they wanted maximum people to participate in the event because only then Ludhiana would become the Graffiti Capital of India.

Fashion and art theme has been selected for this roundabout and artist Ravneet Saggu is taking care of graffiti here.

Children including Tanya Dua, Komalpreet, Sana, Yashank, Krish, Jai, Saksham, Pareneet, Raviya, Ravinder Sharan, Ravi Sharan, Jasleen Takkar, Harleen Sona, Romi Sharma and Amanpreet were the main crowd pullers for their graffiti in the event.

Kuntal Jain from Duke Fashion and his family, MC officials including Superintending Engineer Pawan Sharma, XEN Rahul Gagneja, SDO Deepak Kochhar, and Kamalpreet Singh, councillor Tanvir Dhaliwal, members from Sambhav Foundation Rahul Verma and Shobhan Soi also participated in the event.

Main artist Ravneet Saggu and his team members including Avneesh, Ruhani Kaur, Gouri Verma and Rupsy Narang; Jugnu Club team — Satpal Singh, Romi Sharma, Lalita and Avneet, other artists in the team Atma Singh Deogan and Susheel Sushi from Shimla were also present.
