The Gurgaon police today rescued two businessmen — Aakash Deep (25) and Vikas (24) of Panniwali in Fazilka — kidnapped yesterday.

They were rescued following an encounter with the kidnappers in which one of them was injured. “We have got one of them, though two escaped,” said Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar.

The victims had reached the IGI Airport at 9.30 am to drop Deep’s wife. Around 1.30 pm his family got a call demanding a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. Sumit Godara of Fatehabad, Deep’s brother-in-law, approached the police who formed a special team. The Gurgaon police traced the call to Rohtak and conducted a rescue operation.— TNS
