Gurj Division celebrates 1965 war victory at Bamial

The Gurj Division of the Army held a felicitation ceremony to commemorate the golden jubilee of the victory and valour of the Indian armed forces in the 1965 war, at border Bamial town in Pathankot district today.
The event was attended by senior military and civil dignitaries along with a number of veterans and Veer Naris of the 1965 war from Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Kathua districts of Punjab and J&K.
A cultural programme was presented by students of RS Public School and DAV Public School, Bamial, as part of the celebrations.
The veterans, who participated in the 1965 war, gave an account of their experiences and the bravery of Indian soldiers during the war.
A weapon and equipment display was also showcased.
The Army had organised a health camp and help desk for the veterans. The Veer Naris and the veterans were felicitated for their service and sacrifice for the nation.
