Harbhajan, Geeta Basra to tie the knot on Oct 29

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh is set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra in another two months.

The off-spinner, during his recent visit to Jalandhar, asked his friends to be ready for his big day. The marriage will be solemnised on October 29 at Hotel Cabana on the Jalandhar-Phagwara road.

The bookings for the gala event have already been done at the hotel but the staff have been asked to maintain confidentiality. While the cricketer is away to Sri Lanka for the ongoing Test series, his family members could not be contacted at his residence in Chhoti Baradari here.

Members of the Jalandhar District Cricket Association have confirmed the wedding plan. A Congress leader, close to the cricketer, said, “During his visit to Jalandhar last month, Bhajji gave me a verbal invitation and asked me to be ready for his marriage on October 29.”

The two have been going along for quite some time but have avoided talking about their relationship. Basra, whose latest Bollywood flick is ‘Second Hand Husband’, had reportedly met Harbhajan on the sets of a Punjabi film shot near Jalandhar in December last.

The Bollywood starlet had also attended the wedding of Harbhajan’s sister Sandeep Kaur in Jalandhar in February 2010.
