Haryana on Monday ordered the closure of stone crushers for five days and fresh manufacturing in brick kilns for three days in view of the prevailing air pollution in several parts of the state.

This is one of several decisions taken in an emergency meeting headed by chief minister held at civil secretariat.

Deputy Commissioners have been authorised to declare holidays in schools where the situation warrants.                       

Directions were issued to Health Department to issue advisory on precautions to be taken.                       

Night patrolling will done by traffic police on all highways in view of a number of road accidents witnessed during the past three days.

Khattar also ordered the constitution of a committee of senior officers to suggest ways to utilise paddy stubble for generation of energy or other useful purposes.
