Haryana Tourism resorts not spared

With the Supreme Court order banning the sale of alcohol 500 metres from all state and national highways, bars of several Haryana Tourism resorts have been closed.

The bars at Kingfisher resort in Ambala, Parakeet at Pipli in Kurukshetra, Oasis in Karnal and Ethnic India at Rai in Sonepat have been shut following the order.

The bars in Anjanyatrika at Pehowa in Kurukshetra, Skylark in Panipat and Jangal Bubbler and Sand Piper in Rewari have been closed as well. “The Haryana Tourism resorts in Kaithal and Pehowa and Ethnic India at Rai have closed their bars in compliance with the order,” said AK Bajaj, in charge, Ethnic India.

A Haryana Tourism employee said on the condition of anonymity that this would affect revenue of the department, which had been struggling to increase sale to resorts in various parts of the state.
