The state government has also said asked the Centre to complete the link from Qutub Minar and Badarpur stations on the line between Faridabad and Gurgaon by 2018. The central government had set a 2021 target for the line.

Furthermore, since the line will pass through Delhi, the Haryana government has also proposed a spur on the line passing through residential areas of northern Faridabad in Haryana, starting from Surajkund, and connecting them to an appropriate Metro station located on the Delhi-Faridabad route.

The state government has also asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) to revise the DPR of the metro link between Sector 21 in Dwarka and IFFCO Chowk and Gurgaon, stating that the link will also help in providing easy access to the Delhi airport.

The government has also sought a feasibility report from the DMRC for the metro extension from IFFCO Chowk to Sohna road, Gurgaon, in Phase IV of the Delhi Metro project. The line will provide direct connectivity to the people living on Sohna road and the surrounding areas with Delhi, it said.

Regarding extension of Metro to Kundli in Sonipat district, Haryana has said that there is a proposal to extend the Rithala-Bawana Metro line to Narela in Phase-IV of Delhi Metro.

The state government has also asked the DMRC to submit report on the feasibility of extending the line to Kundli, so that the project is implemented in the same phase pf the project. This line, the Haryana government said, will provide direct connectivity with Delhi to the thickly populated areas of Kundli, it said.

On metro link from YMCA Chowk, Faridabad, to Ballabhgarh, the government has said that the Central Government has already approved the project and given a nod to the DMRC to go ahead with the construction of the project.

Currently, Metro lines of over 12 kms operational in Gurgaon connect the area to Delhi. — PTI
