Hisar/ Ambala, March 30

The dispute of the church in Kaimri village of Hisar which was demolished by some villagers on March 15 has been resolved at a meeting of villagers and Christian priests mediated by senior Congress leader Sampat Singh.

A case was registered against 14 residents of the village following the incident. One of the accused, Anil Godara, was arrested and is now out on bail.

The issue was settled at a meeting held in the Believers Church of India (BCI) at Ambala City in which both parties agreed to maintain communal harmony and the villagers agreed to allow the construction of the church.

Those present at the meeting included Subhash Masih, Korian Lalu, Korian Thomas, Filip Devid, Sanjeev Chaudhary, Pardeep Masih, village sarpanch Satyanarayan, former sarpanch Dalbir Singh, Chotu Ram, Subhash Chand, Ajay Singh, Mandeep Godara, Pawan Kumar.
