Activists of Valmiki Sewak Sangh staged a protest outside the Basti Jodhewal police station against the alleged misbehaviour by a Home Guards personnel with the leader of the sangh.

The demonstrators raised slogans against the police and demanded action against the Home Guards personnel deputed at the police station.

Bablu Anarya, president of Valmiki Sewak Sangh, said, “Some residents thrashed a girl in the area. She along with her mother visited the police station last night. They called to me for help following which they gave the phone to the Home Guards personnel, who introduced himself as Munshi of the police station. However, when I was requesting him to help the victim girl, he started abusing me.”

Irked over the misbehaviour, activists led by Bablu Anarya and Arun Bhati staged a protest outside the police station. Ashok Kumar, SHO, Basti Jodhewal police station, assured them of taking an action against the Home Guards personnel following which the protesters ended the protest.
