Honour for creator of P’kula’s mini rock garden

PD Gauri, 78, who created a mini rock garden here, will be honoured by the administration on Republic Day.

The former banker single-handedly changed the look of the 5,200 sq ft plot full of garbage opposite his house in Sector 12 A.

The district administration will felicitate as many as 38 persons on the day.

ACP(Crime) Pramod Kumar and Sub-Inspector Kamaljit Singh besides three other police officials, Suresh Kumar, Mohan Lal and Ram Bhagat will be honoured. Dr MR Singla, in charge of the government pet clinic, will be honoured for commendable service.

Krit Serai, Principal of Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Shalini Kapoor, Principal of Government School, Saketri, Subhash Sharma, English lecturer in Government School, Sector 6, are among those to be awarded. Many students who excelled in sports will also be awarded.

Deputy CMOs Dr Saroj Aggarwal and Dr Mankirat from the General Hospital will be felicitated too.
