The Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Board (HPSSSB) will save over Rs 1 crore per annum by adopting the Online Application Form Submission System (OAFSS). This was stated by Jograj Thakur, chairman of the HPSSSB, during the launch of the system.
He said the system would help save time and speed up processing of forms submitted by applicants. He said postal delays in the submission of the forms had led to rejection of many forms.
Jograj said it also invited litigations and ultimately, the board had to quash the procedure, which caused huge losses.
He said it was for the first time that the board had invited applications online for 10 posts, including ayurveda pharmacists, operation theatre assistants, staff nurses, women health workers, junior engineers, electricians, sub-inspectors and horticulture extension officers.
Jograj said as many as 696 posts would be recommended, adding that over 500 applications had been uploaded by the applicants on the first day.
He said the government had also sanctioned 12 more posts for the HPSSSB. He added that Rs 96 lakh had been allocated for infrastructure. Jograj said the board would set up its own computer lab for conducting skill tests, for which it had to depend on Polytechnic College earlier. The order for the procurement of computers had been given to the State Electronic Corporation, he said.
