Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani today left the state after a two-day private visit.
A BJP leader said the minister along with her family members had arrived at Barot in the district on Friday and after visiting several places in and around Barot, she left the place this morning. He said the Union Minister had also visited nearby snow-covered Chhota Bhangal in Kangra district.
He said she had met some panchayat representatives of the area at 11 am yesterday for nearly an hour. He said the tour of the minister was private and even officials of the district administration were not aware of it.
He said the minister explored the scenic beauty of the place with her family members.
Former district BJP president Jawahar Thakur along with party workers also called on her for a brief meeting.
After enjoying the beauty of the nature for two days, she left for Pathankot from where she would take the onward journey by train.
