Asked to do away with pendency of files before attachment of the public property management system (PPM) to CM’s e-Dashboard, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) officials have devised a unique way to keep up with deadlines — reject the files.

Of the 1,600 files pending for more than 10 months now, various wings of the department have rejected 1,000 raising several objections. The move has caught the attention of HUDA Administrator Anshaj Singh. He has ordered a thorough review of the reasons behind large-scale rejections.

The PPM would be attached to e-Dashboard CM who would have direct access to progress of files and would keep an eye on the increasing pendency.

Town and Country Planning Additional Chief Secretary P Raghavendra Rao had on December 1 sought details about the pendency. HUDA officials were asked to clear the pending files. However, the officials resorted to the easy way out and ended up rejecting the files.

The sources said 1,678 files were pending in the HUDA office and they pertained to conveyance deed, OC, building plans, transfer permission, mortgage, NoC, DPC certificate and possession.

“The review of reason for rejection has already started and we have found that many files in Rewari office have been rejected without valid reasons causing inconvenience to the people. We are also reviewing rejections by estate officer 1 and 2 and would ensure implementation of the citizen charter,” said a senior official.
