HUDA has sought status of the implementation of the rules regarding the allotment of subsidised plots to schools and hospitals in the district. This comes in the wake of reports of alleged violation of rules by institutions and their failure to furnish compliance report.
PC Meena, Administrator, HUDA, Faridabad, said letters would be issued to all schools and hospitals functioning on the government land to check if they were complying with the conditions attached with plot allotment.
Admitting that while several years had passed since these institutions were allotted plots at subsidised rates, he said none of them had come forward to furnish the details on the implementation of the rules. Neither the department nor the allottees took the initiative to ensure that the beneficiaries followed the rules and guidelines, he admitted.
While the schools are expected to provide a reservation up to 20 per cent to students from the poor community each year, the hospitals are bound to provide free treatment to the BPL category patients and reserve certain number of beds for admitting such patients on permanent basis, it is revealed.
However, according to the Haryana Abhibhawak Ekta Manch, the authorities concerned have failed to ensure its implementation and a punitive action against the offenders. This despite the fact that the issue was brought to the notice of HUDA and the state government from time to time.
Revealing that the issue has been raised by one of MLAs in the state Assembly recently, Kailash Sharma, general secretary of the manch, said notices had been issued to the institutions but schools were let off even after many of them submitted false affidavits.
While a district-level committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner was expected to ensure the admission procedure, he said such a committee never came up. The notice for resumption of land allotted to 14 schools was also withdrawn after political pressure several years ago, he said.
