IAF employee dies of suffocation

Body of an Indian Air Force (Helicopter wing) employee was found from his rented accommodation in Lajpat Nagar, here this morning. The deceased identified as Sandeep Joshi was reportedly found dead with a hot-air convector on his bed. The police suspect that Joshi died due to suffocation.
ASI Kewal Singh, the investigating officer, informed that Joshi, who hailed from Haldwani, was putting up with his wife in a rented accommodation here for the past few years. His elder brother Pradeep Joshi is residing in Sector 47, Chandigarh.
Sandeep’s wife Kiran, who had been to Haldwani, got suspicious when he did not pick up her phone, following which she asked Pradeep to inquire about him. Then, Pradeep asked Sandeep’s neighbours to confirm if he was at his home or not, the IO said.
The police said neighbours found Sandeep’s house locked from inside and subsequently informed us when he did not respond to repeated knocks at his door.
The police finally break opened the door and found Sandeep lying dead on his bed.
Meanwhile, the body has been sent to the CivilHospital, Dera Bassi, for an autopsy. The police have also initiated an inquest proceeding in this regard.
