Police verification work will be done more speedily and smoothly as it will be conducted on the doorstep of the person concerned by officials of Saanjh Kendras.

This was stated by Mohali SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar at the Phase VIII police station on the occasion of the flagging off of 22 motorcycles for Saanjh Kendras and outreach centres here today.

The SSP said the new step would lessen botheration of the public of approaching police stations for passport and other service verification work. Moreover, the Saanjh Kendras would bring about strong coordination with the public.

Bhullar said the work of passport and other service verification would now be done more speedily. Police officials would first schedule an appointment with the person concerned and then conduct verification on his or her doorstep.

The SSP urged cooperation from the public for the success of the Saanjh Kendras. He appreciated the work of non-government officials of the Saanjh Kendra Committee and said they had brought about more transparency in the working of the centres.

Raminder Singh, SP, said there were four Saanjh Kendras and six outreach centres in the district. He said besides motorcycles, cameras would also be provided to the verification officers, which would facilitate capturing of the images of the applicant at the time of verification.
