On learning about the possibility of saffron growers in J&K being able to raise the average yield in their farms, the Governor asked Misri to discuss the matter with the Commissioner, Agricultural Production, and other officials concerned.

The Governor hoped that Misri’s initiatives in J&K would bear early fruit on several fronts.

Meanwhile, GR Sufi, state Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), also called on the Governor today.

Sufi presented to the Governor a copy of the State Information Commission’s (SIC) annual report (2012-13). He briefed the Governor about the broad outcome of the SIC’s functioning, continuing initiatives being taken by him and the members of the SIC for educating people on their rights and privileges under the State Right to Information Act, 2009.

The Governor observed that the effective implementation of the statute would contribute towards reducing corruption and furthering the interests of good governance.
