Khuda Baksh, a resident of Badal village, is making his presence felt on the small screen with his name figuring among top four candidates of singing reality show “Indian Idol 9”. His mother used to work as a domestic help at the residence of ex-Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
When Khuda Baksh reached his native village with a team of TV channel yesterday, the entire village celebrated his success. Village youths took out a procession today to mark his success. Later, the staff of a private college in the village honoured him.
His elder sister Afsana Khan, also an aspiring singer, is performing in “Rising Star” TV show. Twentyone-year-old Khuda Baksh is youngest in the family with five sisters. He lost his father when he was just five. His father Seera Khan Badal was also a singer who had released a Punjabi songs album titled “Kar layi hor pasand”. Meanwhile, sources said Khuda Baksh’s name had been selected for the top three contestants, but it would be formally announced in the TV show on Saturday.
