Daly College, Indore, clinched the trophy of the Lady Honoria Memorial Basketball Tournament at the concluding day of the three-day tournament hosted by Lawrence School, Sanawar, here yesterday.

The final match between Daly College, Indore and Pinegrove School, Subathu, was a rife with an aura of speculation and anxiety. Daly College opened its account in the first minute of the game which was subsequently equalised by Pinegrove. Both teams were resolutely pitted against each other and made desperate bids to juggle the ball into the basket. The score was a marginal 4-5 in favour of Pinegrove by the end of the first quarter of the game.

But Daly College reinvigorated their efforts and went on to narrow the gap to 14-15 at the end of the third quarter of the game.

Finally, it was Daly College that got the better of Pinegrove School to clinch the victory 32-30 in the extra-time.

Pavit Sandhu of Lawrence School, Sanawar, was declared the most promising player of the tournament while Devangana of Daly College, Indore, was adjudged the best player.
