The kin of 19-year-old girl, who was seriously injured after being shot outside ‘Score’ — a discotheque in Sector 8 on Monday, are finding it hard to bear the medical expenses. Both her parents work with a security agency in Delhi.
Shilpa Rai, a resident of Delhi, arrived at the club to attend a party, was shot on her right shoulder. She was admitted to PGI.
Her younger brother Mayank Rai who along with his mother Reeta Rai arrived in the city on Monday, said that both his parents work with a security agency in Delhi and it is hard for them to bear the medical expenses.
“Around Rs 20,000 have already been spent on the treatment and more would be required,” said Mayank.
He further said they borrowed money from relatives and friends. “My father could not come to look after my sister due to his job,” he added.
Shilpa is also pursuing Class XII through open board. The police after the incident informed one of their relatives whose mobile number was stored in girl’s mobile phone, that relative further informed her parents.
Police is also investigating about the person who accompanied her at the party. Cops visited the girl on Tuesday to record her statements.
