Chandigarh, May 18
Ishita Agarwal, a student of commerce at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, has emerged as the overall topper of Chandigarh and Mohali with 97 per cent marks in the Class XII ISC results, which were declared today.
Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, also cornered glory as its student Kajal Sharma emerged as the non-medical topper among the Chandigarh and Mohali-based schools while Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, took the lead in humanities with its student Shriam Mahajan scoring 94.75 per cent marks, the highest in the stream.
St Xavier’s stole the show in the list of overall toppers as two of its other students, also from the commerce stream, bagged the second and third positions. A student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, shared the second position in the examinations.
Ishita Agarwal emerged as the topper by securing 97 per cent marks. Barinda Kapoor of St Xavier’s and Devangana Sehgal of Strawberry Fields stood second by scoring 96.25 per cent marks each. Prabhleen Khurana, also a student of St Xavier’s, stood third with 96 per cent marks. The daughter of a director of a Sweden-based MNC, Ishita Agarwal is on cloud nine. She wants to be a manager in a company and wants to pursue an MBA after completing her BCom.
Kajal Sharma of Yadavindra Public School is the Class XII non-medical topper in Mohali and Chandigarh with 96 per cent marks. The school has also produced the second topper in Chandigarh and Mohali in the same stream,
Gangesh Dhar, who has scored 95.5 per cent marks. A student of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, Prabhleen Kaur, has bagged the third position in Mohali and Chandigarh and the first in Chandigarh by scoring 95.25 per cent marks.
Meanwhile, Shriam Mahajan, a student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, topped in humanities. Daughter of a retired Army officer and a retired school principal, Shriam Mahajan scored 94.75 per cent marks.
YPS has produced the second and third toppers. Ravneet Kaur Sandhu, who got 94.25 per cent marks, secured the second position in Chandigarh and Mohali schools while Sukhanpreet Kaur was at the third spot with 93.5 per cent marks.
Shriam Mahajan claimed that her aim was to join the civil services. Giving credit for her success to teachers and parents, she said hard work, patience and persistence in studies helped her achieve her goal.
Kajal Sharma said, “I got more marks than what I had expected. I am happy with my achievement.”
In the medical stream, Archana Negi of St Xavier’s topped in Chandigarh and Mohali by scoring 89.50 per cent marks.
