The Sarbat Khalsa-designated Takht heads today issued an edict excommunicating Operation Bluestar commander Lt Gen Kuldip Singh Brar (retd) and former DGPKPS Gill.

Anguished over Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal’s failure to abide by the summons to appear before them today, they gave him a month’s time to him to clarify his position. These decisions were taken by “Jathedars” Dhian Singh Mand, Amrik Singh Ajnala and Baljit Singh Daduwal.

Gill had been declared “tankhayia” (a person guilty of religious misconduct) along with Brar by radical Sikhs during the controversial congregation at Chabba village in Amritsar on November 10 last year. They were directed to clear their stand before the “Jathedars” by November 20.

Mand said if Brar and Gill violated this “hukumnama” they would face action as per the Sikh principles.
