Juhi adjudged best speaker in club activity

Juhi Sabharwal was voted the best speaker in prepared as well as table topics segments while Puneet Basur was adjudged the best evaluator and Tulika Anthwal and Rahul Bhatnagar the best role players during the launch of the Toastmasters Club at a hotel in Mussoorie today.

The theme of the first meeting was “Why I love to be a toastmaster”. Sanjay Agarwal, president of the Rotary Club Mussoorie, Sandeep Sahni, president of the Hotel Owners Association, Uttarakhand, Rachna Sharma, CEO and a professional trainer, Juhi Sabharwal, teacher, and Rajiv Chopra, General Manager, Fortune Savoy hotel, attended the meeting. Many youths also attended the meeting and appreciated the fun-filled learning experience.

Anthwal, Vaani Baurai played different roles. Evaluator Harry Sethi said, “Toastmasters is a place where you develop and grow-both personally and professionally. At the toastmasters meetings, you learn by doing. Constructive evaluation is central to the toastmasters philosophy. At every meeting, a team of evaluators points out strengths as well as areas for improvement for every speaker.”

The toastmaster of the day, Rahul Bhatnagar, said, “I have been a toastmaster for the last five years. I first joined the club when I went to Pune to do MBA. I love being a toastmaster because it has made much difference in my personality. I have learnt a lot from the feedback from fellow toastmasters. I love being part of international toastmasters clubs where encouragement and improvement go hand-in-hand.”

Rachna Sharma, Juhi Sabharwal and Ankur Arora from Dehradun also spoke. Garima Dhawan Arora conducted aninteresting table topic segment that provided an opportunity to many to speak extempore.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organisation that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Founded in 1924, it is regarded as the leading

organization dedicated to communication and leadership skill development. Anyone who is 18 years or more can join.
