The farmers should make efforts to bring the Kaithal Cooperative Sugar Mill profitable by sowing advanced varieties of sugarcane leading to high recovery of sugar. The farmers will be the ultimate beneficiaries.
This was stated by Deputy Commissioner and chairman of the mill, KM Pandurang, while addressing directors and shareholders at an AGM here today. He assured the farmers that their crop will be purchased and timely payment will be made to them.
The crushing target this season was 30 lakh quintals out of which 26. 51 lakh quintals had already been crushed and 2.42 lakh quintals of sugar had been produced .The sugar recovery of the mill was 10. 40 per cent, that was third in the state.
He also inaugurated a mill outlet for the benefit of consumers opposite the local Mini Secretariat.
